University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf Scores European Identity Award

Congratulations to our customer University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE), winner of the European Identity & Cloud Awards 2013 for Best Approach on Improving Governance and Mitigating Risks.

The awards – which honor outstanding projects and initiatives in Identity & Access Management (IAM), Governance, Risk Management and Compliance (GRC), and Cloud Security – were presented on May 15 by KuppingerCole at the seventh European Identity & Cloud Conference in Munich.

UKE uses Lieberman Software’s Random Password Manager (RPM) to protect its systems from unauthorized privileged access, while ensuring that IT service operators can still easily access the systems for both routine and emergency support tasks. UKE has deployed RPM on more than 1,600 Active Directory managed systems to protect access to sensitive data by securing powerful administrator accounts on all managed systems.

This project has provided significant benefits in data protection, and we’re happy to see them win this prestigious industry honor. UKE should be commended for having the foresight to identify potential security vulnerabilities on its network and take proactive steps to remediate these threats.

“Random Password Manager is a valuable investment that significantly improves the security of our personal and financial data,” said Florian Benthin, Head of Desktop Services at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf. “We’re very satisfied with the product and plan to extend the license to cover more systems on our network.”

RPM was originally selected over competing products by UKE for its ability to automatically and frequently change privileged account passwords in a large, cross-platform enterprise.
