This week it was reported that the government of China ordered banks and other enterprises to limit use of foreign computer technology in a move to lower the risks of foreign cyber attacks.
It seems ironic that some of the large US technology firms that will be impacted most by China’s new sanctions are the same organizations that are pressuring the US Senate to weaken our supply chain safeguards when providing critical IT infrastructure to US federal agencies.
Lenin got it wrong when he said, “The Capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them.”
If the big US technology companies get their way, we’ll be buying the rope ourselves with federal tax dollars.
